realme, the world’s fastest growing smartphone brand, has been named as a Top 6 smartphone vendor in the global rankings, as data from Q3 2018 to Q2 2021 from industry analysis firm Counterpoint showed how realme leapt to a Top 6 ranking in a span of just three years, which is an unprecedented feat by a smartphone brand on a global stage. What started out as a small smartphone manufacturer headquartered in Shenzhen has grown into a ‘giant challenger’, earning a spot amongst the world’s top brands.
In a highly competitive market known for high barriers to entry and an even higher bar for customer satisfaction, Founder and CEO Sky Li established realme with a laser-focused goal in mind: To share in the dreams and drive of the young generation of mobile consumers, leaping together into an exciting future. Having started from a nondescript brand, realme has surpassed all industry and customer expectations, expanding to over 61 markets worldwide and ranking as a Top 5 brand in over 18 of these markets, claiming the first place in Philippines and Bangladesh, fourth in India and Russia and fifth in the Europe region in Q2 2021. Last month, realme became the fastest brand ever to ship 100 million smartphones, according to data from research firm Strategy Analytics.
This phenomenal success did not occur overnight. Being a young brand, realme took risks in its business strategies such as globalization from the start, keeping ears close to the ground and listening to consumer demands, and packaging high-quality and very advanced technologies in a beautifully designed and user-friendly product. These initiatives appealed to a young audience who quickly became passionate supporters of the brand.
