The Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF), Northern Sri Lanka\u2019s largest multitrade exhibition, would be held from January 23 to 25, 2026, marking its 16th consecutive year as a key commercial platform for the region, the organisers said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Organised by Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services in association with the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Yarlpanam, the event will take place at the Muttraweli Ground in Jaffna. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organisers said the fair aims to deepen business connectivity, support investment and promote technology-led growth in the Northern province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2026 edition is expected to feature more than 400 stalls across sectors including construction, automobiles, consumer goods, agriculture, food and beverages, packaging, ICT, financial services, education and healthcare. It will cater to both business-to-business and consumer audiences, drawing manufacturers, service providers, distributors, exporters and investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year\u2019s fair attracted more than 78,000 visitors and around 5,000 invited business delegates, including senior corporate executives, entrepreneurs and policymakers, according to the organisers. They estimate that about 70 percent of visitors engage in direct business discussions, often leading to partnerships, distribution agreements and investment opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organisers said the timing of the 2026 fair has been planned to avoid regional holidays to maximise participation and commercial activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The JITF has become a prominent feature of the Northern province\u2019s post-conflict economic revival, as infrastructure development and private investment gather pace in the region. The visitor profile typically include importers, exporters, wholesalers, SMEs, financial institutions, development agencies and sector specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fair will also continue its Plastic Neutral Initiative for a second year, with waste collection and recycling stations across the venue and partnerships with approved waste-management organisations, reflecting a growing focus on sustainability at large-scale business events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
