Hayleys PLC Chairman and Chief Executive Mohan Pandithage has been named \u2018Businessman of the Year 2025\u2019 by LMD Magazine, following a year in which the group continued to hold its position as Sri Lanka\u2019s leading listed company for the second consecutive year and for the tenth time overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The recognition caps a period of sustained performance for one of the country\u2019s most diversified conglomerates, which operates across 16 sectors and more than 80 international markets. Hayleys\u2019 consistency at the top of LMD\u2019s rankings underscores its enduring role in Sri Lanka\u2019s export economy and corporate landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pandithage\u2019s association with Hayleys dates back to 1969, when he joined as a management trainee. He was appointed to the board in 1998 and became Chief Executive in 2009. Over the years, he has guided the group through multiple cycles of economic change, maintaining stability and growth across its varied portfolio. A veteran of the logistics and transport industry, Pandithage is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and serves on the Advisory Council of the Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents and the Council of the Employers\u2019 Federation of Ceylon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His professional achievements have been recognised through several awards, including the Pinnacle Lifetime Award from CILT and induction into the Sri Lanka Aviation Hall of Fame. He also serves as the Honorary Consul of Mexico to Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
