The second day of the AI Exhibition, held as part of Sri Lanka AI Week 2026, officially commenced yesterday at Monarch Imperial, with the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, marking another significant milestone in the week-long initiative pioneered by the Digital Economy Ministry and SLT-MOBITEL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The occasion was also attended by Digital Economy Deputy Minister Eng. Eranga Weeraratne, Secretary Waruna Sri Dhanapala, People\u2019s Republic of China Ambassador Wei Huaxiang, SLT Group Chairman Dr. Mothilal De Silva, SLT-MOBITEL CEO Riyaaz Rasheed and Mobitel Chief Operating Officer Sudharshana Geeganage, alongside Government representatives, industry leaders, technology professionals and other distinguished guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During her visit, Prime Minister toured the SLT-MOBITEL exhibition stall, which showcases the organisation\u2019s evolution from a national connectivity provider into a technology and digital solutions enabler, while demonstrating its growing focus on AI-led innovation and emerging technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister\u2019s walkthrough continued across several featured exhibition stalls, including the Huawei Remote Learning Education showcase and AI Campus, providing an opportunity to engage with the technologies, solutions and innovators contributing to Sri Lanka\u2019s evolving digital ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit further underscored the importance of collaboration between Government, technology providers, businesses and the wider innovation ecosystem in advancing Sri Lanka\u2019s AI ambitions. It also reflected the shared commitment towards creating an environment where AI can be applied meaningfully across sectors and contribute to the country\u2019s broader digital transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
