The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has emphatically reinforced its position as Sri Lanka\u2019s leading digital banking innovator, winning three accolades at the Global Finance World\u2019s Best Digital Bank & AI in Finance Awards 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bank won the awards for Best Consumer Digital Bank, Best Mobile Banking App and Most Innovative Digital Bank, at the ceremony held at Raffles Hotel, Singapore. The awards honour excellence in digital banking among financial institutions worldwide, placing Commercial Bank alongside leading international players in an increasingly technology-driven industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commercial Bank was represented at the awards event by Randil Boteju \u2013 Chief Digital Officer, Ramendra Nonis Manager, Digital Banking Unit (DBU) and Nadika Nagahawatte Senior Engineering Manager, IT R&D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Global Finance recognition reflects the Bank\u2019s sustained investment in digital transformation, customer-centric technology and advanced research and development, spearheaded by its Digital Banking Unit and IT Research and Development teams. The Bank\u2019s recognition also places Sri Lanka\u2019s digital banking capabilities on a prominent international platform. At the same ceremony, Singapore-based DBS Bank was named the World\u2019s Best Digital Bank, highlighting the global calibre of institutions recognised by the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Global Finance, the winners were selected on the strength of their strategies for attracting and serving digital customers, customer adoption and growth, the breadth of digital product offerings, tangible benefits delivered through digital initiatives and the design and functionality of their websites and mobile platforms. Winners in sub-categories were assessed on the relative strength and success of their web products and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
