The Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CanCham) Sri Lanka has announced its opening, dedicated to fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses and providing advocacy for the business community. The opening ceremony was held at the new premises Horton Place, Colombo 07 recently.

The mission of the chamber is to empower local businesses, drive sustainable economic development for our members. We look forward to partnering with local government, entrepreneurs and community leaders to build a connected business environment.

CanCham Sri Lanka will offer services including networking events, business development resources, policy advocacy and community promotion.

High Commissioner for Canada in Sri Lanka Isabelle Martin the patron of the CanCham Sri Lanka was the chief guest and Jean Christian Brilliant, Director General South Asia, Global Affairs, Ottawa Canada was the guest of honor.

The distinguished participant comprised senior trade commissioner from the Canadian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka and senior representatives of BOI, EDB and other business leaders from prominent corporate sectors.

CanCham Sri Lanka encourages businesses to join or register with the chamber. Sri Lanka becomes the latest member of the 22 active chambers of commerce in the Indo- Pacific region with great collaboration and support from global affairs Canada. The chamber will serve as the strategic regional office coordinating economic activities, primarily South Asia (SAARC Countries) and other regional economic block to foster economic cooperation and provide a platform to explore business/investment opportunities.
