TechCERT has received the ASOCIO AI in Cybersecurity Award 2026, becoming the only Sri Lankan organisation recognised in the cybersecurity category at the ASOCIO Digital and AI Awards 2026.
The recognition highlights TechCERT’s development of ARGUS AI, an internal cybersecurity intelligence platform designed to support security analysis while keeping sensitive client data within its own environment.
The award ceremony took place on October 6, at Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue, Indonesia, during the ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026. One of eight categories under the awards programme, the AI in Cybersecurity Award recognises organisations applying artificial intelligence to proactively identify, prevent and respond to cybersecurity risks across digital and enterprise environments.
Developed by TechCERT, ARGUS AI addresses a practical challenge faced by cybersecurity teams: processing large volumes of vulnerability findings from multiple tools and platforms. Differences in data formats, manual correlation of findings, research into known exploits and preparation of client reports can consume considerable analyst time.
ARGUS AI automatically gathers vulnerability data from TechCERT’s internal platforms and security tools, then correlates findings with exploit intelligence. This helps TechCERT Engineers to analyze whether a vulnerability has a known exploit and understand how it could be abused and identify relevant attack techniques. These specialised AI models also support tasks including report rewriting, vulnerability analysis and summarization and reasoning about potential attack chains within authorized penetration testing engagements.
Privacy is central to the platform’s design. ARGUS AI operates internally within TechCERT’s environment, allowing client information to be processed without sending it to external cloud AI services.
The platform also supports rapid searches across more than 200,000 exploit and security intelligence entries. According to TechCERT’s internal measurements, searches take approximately 15–40 milliseconds. Using semantic search, ARGUS AI retrieves information based on the meaning and context of a vulnerability, helping TechCERT Engineers find relevant intelligence beyond exact keyword matches.
Human oversight remains integral to its use. Security analysts review AI-generated analysis, recommendations and potential attack paths before incorporating them into client-facing work. Final decisions remain with qualified security professionals, preserving accountability and professional judgement.
As Sri Lanka’s sole recipient in this ASOCIO award category, TechCERT’s achievement brings regional attention to locally developed cybersecurity innovation. It demonstrates a practical approach to adopting AI in cyber security operations while retaining control over client data and the quality of professional analysis.
